We’re ‘people’ people

We are a property development enterprise with an ethical heartbeat. Our passion lies in creating safe environments for people to call home by reimagining vacant spaces. We want to provide housing solutions in the form of specialist supported homes to the people that really need them.

Our homes are designed and built to inspire confidence, and support communities.

Abacus Fairhomes was created as a way to combine the investment experience and social passion of its founders – two experienced landlords, Nana Banton and Giles Harrison.

Our developments are demand-driven, and we respond to local needs. With a focus on specialist care provision, much of our development results in Supported Living accommodation for adults with learning disabilities. We see great need and potential to expand our projects to cater for vulnerable individuals experiencing other social barriers, and are excited to address these with future partners.

Our Team

Nana and Giles joined forces in early 2020, combining their experience in property investment and the charity sector, to pursue property development and commercial conversion. The pair share a passionate vision for the business, combining their skillsets to carry out projects for excellent Supported Living provision.

Nana Banton Linkedin

Nana Banton MBA, MSc, FRSA is a Board Director of a Social Housing Group, and Trustee/Director of two Supported Living Charities. She is also a Business Advisor specialising in change management, with experience in public, private, and not-for-profit sectors.

Nana’s experience in property includes:

  • 18 years as a residential landlord
  • Overseeing renovation of buy-to-let properties
  • Portfolio set up and management for other landlords
  • HMO Management

Giles Harrison Linkedin

Giles Harrison has been letting and managing properties across the country since 1997 and is an Accredited Landlord with the National Residential Landlord’s Association. He also produces and directs TV documentaries, is a trustee of The Mango Tree Orphan Support Programme, and volunteers as an RNLI Lifeboat crew member.

Giles’ experience in property includes:

  • Commercial property
  • Family business in holiday lets & HMO
  • Refurbishing for private rentals
  • Land, planning, and industrial uses

Abacus Fairhomes works with a broad team of experienced professionals, each carefully vetted and suitably fitting to individual projects.

We only outsource to contractors who demonstrate specialist experience, who are quality-driven, who communicate effectively and work collaboratively in delivering the Abacus Fairhomes mission.
